Elena Papathanasiou
I was born in Athens. I graduated from Rallou Manou dance school. I attended improvisation and contemporary dance seminars with David Dorfman, Lisa Race, Maxime Heppner, Hermes Malkotsi, Linda Kapetanea, Haris Mantafouni and others.
I did Argentine tango lessons with Kostas Nicolaides and seminars with Michael Zotto, Silvio Lavia.
I completed the teacher-training at Hatha Yoga with Michalis Filinis, attended Prana flow seminars, Usui Reiki Ryoxo, Deep Tissue and Thai Massage. I have been teaching modern dance since 2003 and hatha yoga, and I have worked with dance schools, Marios Chatzimichalis, Vera and Regina Alexopoulou, Motus dance school and various studios in Athens.
I participated in dance festivals and platforms and I have choreographed for the Arpiyia musical scheme, connecting traditional music with modern dance, as well as performances of amateur dance schools.
I collaborated with the dance groups HANIMA, Rhesus +, Iasi, Póes Dance Dance Choir of Sofia Spyratos, Vera Kitna Children's Dance Theater, choreographer Elena Michailidou in Greece and Cyprus, choreographer Maxime Heppner and the Athenaeum Conservatory.
Through the experience that I received from yoga in recent years, I use the benefits of contemporary dance and experiment with combined lessons at dance and studio schools in Athens.
